Volunteer positions:
We ask our volunteers to offer a minimum of eight hours every month to support our ministry. We have the following volunteer positions.
RECEPTIONIST
… greets and welcomes clients, copies required documents, answers phone calls, completes computer work such as, but not limited to, retrieving and responding to email requests, sorting, tracking, and filing emails to appropriate email folders and schedules interviews
INTERVIEWER
… completes the intake application, ensures that photocopies of required documents are attached to the application, and advises clients of additional resources in the community
FUND-RAISING SPECIALIST
… proposes and coordinates fund-raising events to supplement church donations and grants in the funding of services to our client/s
TECHNICAL SPECIALIST
… Advises on computer maintenance issues
COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST
— prepares brochures and other media for the dissemination of information about Community Ministry, and works with news media to enhance public awareness of the needs of persons such as our clients. Also, serves as web master for Community Ministry website
OUTREACH COORDINATOR
… maintains list of affiliated churches, contacting them as necessary to coordinate donations and to solicit volunteers, and maintains connections with other agencies who collaborate with Community Ministry in providing services to our clients
FOLLOW-UP COORDINATOR
.. . calls clients 60 days after assistance to check on housing status
VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR
… schedules and records volunteer hours and provides needed equipment and supplies at the office
GRANT WRITER
… coordinates with Community Ministry president to prepare and submit grant proposals, and assists with the maintenance of grant-related records
TRAINING IS PROVIDED FOR ALL POSITIONS.
